CELEBRATING THE THIRD ST. JUDE THADDEUS ANNUAL NOVENA 19TH – 27TH OCTOBER 2022

CELEBRATING THE THIRD ST. JUDE THADDEUS ANNUAL NOVENA 19TH – 27TH OCTOBER 2022

Warm greetings to you Parishioners and Friends of St. Jude.

Dear Friends & Parishioners as you are aware that we are in the month of October. During this month, we hold the third and last annual Novena to our Patron St. Jude Thaddeus, which is to take place from 19th - 27th October. The Novena will be crowned with the National celebration of St. Jude’s Feast on the 28th of October, here at Naggulu. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we have not congregated to solemnize this October Novena and the Celebrations of the Feast Day of St. Jude since 2019.

Taking into account the endemic effects of the pandemic in this country and worldwide, most people were affected and are still suffering in one way or another. As I speak, some people are suffering from yet another disease known as Ebola. For all these challenges, let us pray for God's intervention. It’s our wish that during this October Novena, we dedicate our prayers in a special way for our country and people affected in our society among whom identified are; the Parliamentarians, Business Community, the Needy, Lawyers, Medical Fraternity, Employers, Employees, Workers, Engineers, Contractors, Women, and Seminarians.

The category of people mentioned above has been invited to join us in Mass, on the different days of the Novena. They too are also aware of the new church being constructed and as such, they will be requested to support us within their abilities.

In that respect, we wish to request you in your respective Basic Christian Communities to mobilize yourselves to support this cause. We thank you in advance.

Lastly, we are preparing for a fundraising dinner which shall be held on Sunday the 23rd October 2022 at the Naggulu Church. The program of the day will start with Mass at 4:00 P.M, and the Main Celebrant is Rev. Fr. Joseph Mukasa Muwonge.

After Mass, dinner shall be served from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at a reasonable and affordable cost of 100,000/= per person. We also have a table of 10 people at 1,000,000/= which includes a bottle of wine. By attending this dinner, you will have participated in building the new church.

Once again, on behalf of the building committee, I extend our sincere thanks for your support.

Be Blessed.

FR. VIATORY MUVUNYI WELCOME TO NAGGULU

FR. VIATORY MUVUNYI WELCOME TO NAGGULU

On 16th September 2022, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Mary Bbuye began his introductory remarks to the congregation during a 30-minute benediction he conducted by saying, "Brethren, the Lord is gracious all the time." This was done to welcome the second Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Viatory Muvunyi. His Grace, Paul Ssemogere, the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese entrusted Fr. Viatory to our Parish in order to evangelize and advance the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fr. Joseph Mary Bbuye expressed gratitude on behalf of the Naggulu parishioners to the Kiziba Parishioners, led by their Parish Priest Fr. Ssebuliba Edward and his Assistant, Fr. Joseph Lubega, for guiding and nurturing Fr. Viatory to the priesthood, and escorting him to his first-ever appointment as a Priest.

The parishioners of Naggulu were also thanked for having welcomed the ’mugole’ in such a wonderful and joyful manner.

"Fr. Viatory will evangelise and administer sacraments at this altar, so the benediction's aim was to present him before the Lord," remarked Fr. Joseph Mary Bbuye.

He concluded by wishing "mugole" God's blessings on his new position as a Priest in Naggulu.

THE PARISH PRIEST ON THE WORLD DAY FOR GRANDPARENTS AND ELDERLY

Last Sunday 24th  July 2022, was the second world day for grandparents and the elderly which was instituted by Pope Francis last year 2021.

Here at Naggulu, we marked it for the first time on that day in the 10:30 AM Mass which was led by our Parish Priest, Rev.Fr. Joseph Mary Bbuye and animated by the grandparents and the elderly.

Father assured the elderly that they are never forgotten, they are always held dear in our hearts. He was delighted to meet the elderly of Naggulu Parish as a group since his appointment here. He said that he would wish to associate with them closely.

The Holy Father, Pope Francis had proposed that this day be prepared by the Youth. Here at Naggulu, our Youth Apostolate organized this day well. The Parish Priest thanked these young stars for the effort and time they committed to this day. He encouraged the youth to always respect the elderly because they (the elderly) are a source of wisdom that is not taught in school.

He promised to pray for everyone who was involved in the preparations of this world day for grandparents and the elderly.

In Naggulu Parish, this day will be celebrated in a special way in the 10:30 AM Mass. We thank our Youth and the Good Samaritan Ministry for making preparations for this day.
